Shipping & Returns

Brexit and European Shipping

The UK has now left the EU. The implication is that European customers may be charged import duty. This amount will vary depending on the value and the nature of the goods. The recipient of the goods is responsible for the payment of these charges. Important: If you refuse the parcel to avoid paying import Duty and the parcel gets returned to us, we will refund you the cost of the item (if it’s returned in sellable condition) only, not the cost of shipping. Returned parcels will not be resent.

Import duty

Overseas shipments may be subject to import duties and tax. Additional charges must be at the customer’s expense. Direction of Travel has no control over these charges and accepts no responsibility for any additional overseas costs.

If an item arrives damaged, we’ll replace it if another is available, or offer a refund if not. Please email photographs of the damage and be ready to return the item by post if asked to.

Lost items

We do not accept liability for lost items but will always try to help resolve the situation where possible. All newspaper are shipped untracked. Please allow 7-14 days for delivery.

If the item(s) you bought don’t match your expectations, we will accept returns. These need to be notified immediately by email, and the items sent back using a tracked shipping service within 7 days of receiving them. We will refund the cost of the item when we have checked them – they must arrive in good condition.
