Planes Over London

Millions of Londoners live under Heathrow's flightpath and are impacted by the airport's close proximity to the capital, but it is not everyday that planes destined for Heathrow fly over the city.

Planes Over London is a subscription service that provides a 14-day forecast as to whether Heathrow arrivals will be flying their approach over London. It gives visitors a 14 day forecast. The project also works for those living West of the airport, who are impacted when the airport is on Easterlies. Alongside the forecast, subscribers also get access to a calendar feed, notification support, London City forecast and twenty years of weather data.

The project was created as a prediction service, as a way for Londoner's to know if they might be woken up by incoming aircraft (or not). With Heathrow and its unique, complex setup you cannot devise it's usage from the wind direction alone. There are other factors at play, which makes Planes Over London unique in what it provides.

The project is entirely funded by its subscribers, they help support the continued development and upkeep.
